Consistency

This is something that goes hand in hand with the last article and should be adopted across the board with whatever you are doing.
Let’s take marketing as a prime example, and look at a couple of scenarios. Firstly, we often spread ourselves too thin; attending networking events, creating multiple social networking accounts, blogging, website building, flyers and brochures, email marketing etc. And of course in our striving to get all of this covered we end up not doing any of this a) very well, or b) more than once or twice! You remember the people you only meet once at an event? Or the blog post that comes for a few weeks and then stops?
We have to think, what is the customer’s perception of this? Do they assume these people have gone out of business when they don’t see or hear from them?
Secondly, we have the business that spends lots of money, and no doubt time, on a flyer campaign or a brand new website and when they don’t get immediate customers the old chestnut comes out: “That doesn’t work”!
With both examples the only thing that will work is to build up consistency in everything that you do; if you are sending out flyers then do it every 8 weeks consistently, if you have a new website commit to up-dating and promoting it regularly and consistently!! Simple really, but we often don’t remember it!
My suggestion would be to start with one area get it automated and then add in other areas.

“After meeting Sophie at a networking event, seeing how well turned out and confident she was promoting herself and her business, I decided to book a taster session. I have now booked sessions with Sophie to motivate my staff team, and after 1 session I was already seeing results!” – Amanda Pigott, Creche on Location.
